Bruno Mars, Anderson. Paak team up for new Silk Sonic band

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak announced that they formed a new band called Silk Sonic. The duo recorded a collaborative album and their first single will arrive next week.

“We closed and made an album,” Mars wrote on twitter. “The first song will be released next Friday, 3/5.” The project will feature Bootsy Collins as a “special guest host”. Paak also shared the news on Instagram.

Mars and .Paak bonded previously when they traveled together during the European stage of Mars. 24K Magic world tour in 2017.

Last year, Mars collaborated with Charlie Wilson on “Forever Valentine”, a song that Mars co-wrote and co-produced, in addition to providing backup vocals. It was also announced that the singer struck a deal with Disney to develop an upcoming musical film, in which he will star and produce. Mars’ latest album is from 2016 24K Magic.

.Paak released a series of singles last year, including “Jewelz”, “Lockdown” and his remix with a verse with Noname and Trolls World Tour track “Don’t Slack” with Justin Timberlake. He released his latest album Ventura in 2019.
