Bruce Springsteen pleads guilty to taking 2 shots of tequila at Sandy Hook Park

After all, Bruce Springsteen may have been born to run. The legendary singer had his DWI and reckless driving charges dismissed by a judge on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to the minor charge of drinking alcohol in a public park. He was fined $ 540. “I think I can pay that right away,” Springsteen told federal judge Anthony Mautone when asked if he had a deadline to pay the fine, according to the New York Daily News. “I’m sure you can,” replied Mautone.

Springsteen was arrested in November after a police officer saw him taking a shot of tequila at Gateway, New Jersey’s national recreation area, before boarding his motorcycle. Later, the Asbury Park-Press reported that Springsteen only blew a BAC of 0.02 – just a quarter of the state’s legal limit. He admitted to shooting two shots with a group of fans.
