Normally at this time of year, the Cleveland Browns would be with all the other NFL teams in the annual scouting in Indianapolis. The combination is not happening this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but an important part of the combination experience for the teams is still happening virtually.
Meetings with players and interviews with the team with potential customers are ongoing. One of the players the Browns recently met is a promising and interesting player, Northwestern cornerback Greg Newsome II.
Newsome is generally projected between No. 25 and No. 50 overall, a track that includes Browns’ first choice at No. 26 overall. His ability to throw the ball in the air and use his length and skill in football made Newsome an attractive and encouraging candidate to hear that the Browns have already met.
