“RBG was clearly a symbol of what is good about this country and how, when we are inclusive, we can stop the level of exclusivity that is widespread across the country,” said Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, according to NBC News.
The bronze statue, created by artists Gillie and Marc in consultation with Ginsburg before his death, commemorates the deceased feminist icon during Women’s History Month.

“We had the honor and privilege of creating the distinctive image of Justice Ginsburg in eternal bronze as part of Statues for Equality. The final statue reflects his desire to be portrayed in a dignified manner,”The artists talked about their inspiration, according to City Point, where the statue will be exposed.
They went on to say, “With the two steps on its large base representing the Federal Supreme Court and the escalation it made to get there, the work aims to give the public the opportunity to be at their side and be inspired by their journey of struggle for equal rights ” .
Adams named March 15 “Ginsburg Justice Day” in Brooklyn in honor of the champion of gender equality, who died of pancreatic cancer in September.
The statue is available for viewing upon reservation, which can be made up to 60 days in advance.
