Xbox Marketing Director Aaron Greenberg enlightened that “this IS NOT FOCUSED ON NEWS / REVEALS, but a great chance to learn more about Bethesda teams and people.” [Greenberg’s Emphasis]The broadcast follows the official acquisition of ZeniMax by Microsoft, which transformed eight Bethesda developers into Microsoft studios. In that initial announcement, Xbox boss Phil Spencer promised that more Bethesda games would be added to the Xbox Game Pass later this week to celebrate – they are likely to be announced during the broadcast.
We may not learn much about Microsoft’s plans for Bethesda Studios, however. Spencer previously explained that more news about how the new Xbox teams will work will come “later this year”. Spencer previously explained that Microsoft could not legally deal with the plans with Bethesda until the acquisition was completed, so discussions may still be in the early stages.
One thing we know is that “some” future Bethesda games will be exclusive to Xbox and PC after the acquisition. “With the addition of Bethesda’s creative teams,” wrote Spencer earlier this week, “gamers should know that Xbox, PC and Game Pass consoles will be the best places to try out new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be be exclusive to Xbox and PC players. “
