The newest member of the Kingdom of Chiefs has arrived.
On Sunday, Brittany Matthews, engaged to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, announced the birth of the couple’s first child, a girl named Sterling.
“Sterling Skye Mahomes,” Brittany posted on Instagram, noting that the couple’s bundle of joy was born on Saturday and weighs 6 pounds, 11 ounces.
In a photo shared on his page, Matthews is seen wearing a “Sterling” necklace while taking a look at his newborn daughter’s hand. Mahomes, 25, also posted the same image.
Before Sterling’s birth, Matthews shared the photos of his maternity session with Mahomes.
“Meu Rei”, she spoke on Instagram at the time.
Matthews, a certified personal trainer, announced her pregnancy in September, the same month she and Mahomes became engaged.
“Mom and Dad, making a little detour to the wedding,” Matthews posted on Instagram at the time.
Mahomes, the MVP of the 2020 Super Bowl, signed the richest contract in the history of the sport during the summer, a 10-year extension with the Chiefs worth $ 503 million.
The Chiefs recently fell for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Super Bowl 2021 earlier this month.
