Britney Spears guardianship case: how Nancy Grace thinks the #FreeBritney saga will end

Iconic pop star Britney Spears continues her legal struggle after her father, Jamie Spears, placed her under legal guardianship.

Fox Nation host Nancy Grace told Fox & Friends on Friday that steps are being taken to have her father “totally removed” as a conservative, but emphasized that “it’s not that easy”.

In her newest episode of “Crime Stories, now available on Fox Nation, Grace investigates the controversial case with investigative reporter Alexis Tereszcuk and psychoanalyst Dr. Bethany Marshall.

The Spears controversy surfaced again after the release of the documentary “Framing Britney Spears”, which aired on FX and Hulu earlier this month.

The legal guardianship dates from when the singer “Baby One More Time” lost autonomy in 2008, after her public collapse when she shaved her head. Spears was also admitted to a psychiatric ward in the same year.

Grace went on to say that after the tragic series of events, Jamie Spears took control of the singer’s property and helped her perform again. The pop star took a residency in Las Vegas, raising more than $ 30 million a year.

In 2019, the 39-year-old singer announced that she would be on an “indefinite hiatus” from her Las Vegas home due to “emotional stress” and admitted to a mental health center. According to his lawyer Samuel Ingham, the pop icon will not resume his musical career as long as his father controls his property through his guardianship.

The court ruled last week that her father would remain co-conservative of her daughter’s assets alongside the Bessemer Trust Co., a decision that her ex-husband’s family lawyer Kevin Federline has decided.

“Great opportunity in the case. The LA Superior Court judge, Judge Penny, just decided on her father’s objection that he should share custody with Bessemer Trust, a wealth management company,” Grace explained.

The pop star’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, spoke recently after the court decided on co-guardianship and is acting as her curator. Other celebrities and fans are participating in the #FreeBritney movement, demanding that the star be released from his legal guardianship.

Grace predicted that Britney “will seek an end to guardianship” after a court removes her father as a co-conservative.

“It’s amazing to see. Have you seen any male pop stars in this situation?” Grace asked, saying that Spears should “get out of that trust” as soon as possible.
