Although Spears’ guardianship has been a point of controversy for some time, interest in the subject was renewed after the documentary “Framing Britney Spears” aired on FX and Hulu earlier this month.
Fans are participating in the #FreeBritney movement, demanding that the star be released from his legal guardianship, claiming that his father Jamie, who serves as co-conservative, has been oppressive and even stolen from his fortune – he has denied such rumors.
On Thursday, the court ruled that Jamie would remain co-conservative on his daughter’s property alongside the Bessemer Trust Co., a decision that Federline’s family lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, seems to consider strong.

“I think there are many different layers of protection for Britney Spears as a conservative, and I don’t think anyone should worry about the fact that, in some way, she is being abused by people who are in control of a conflict of interest. . “, Kaplan told Fox Television Stations. “I don’t think it’s valid – it’s a concern, but I don’t think it’s based on reality.”

Spears, now 39, was placed in guardianship for more than a decade after her public fall, and recently she said she decided to interrupt her artistic career until she was released from guardianship.

The lawyer noted that Federline “does not express an opinion” about his ex-wife’s legal status “and does not want to be involved in that side”.

Federline and Spears share two children: Sean Preston, 15, and Jayden James, 14. They share 70% of their time with their father and the rest with Spears, although they have “voluntarily” modified that number, giving Federline more time with the Boys.

According to Kaplan, the kids are “doing great and Kevin is enjoying watching them grow up to be young men”.

In addition, he said that if guardianship was closed, he “would probably have a more cautious look to make sure that everything is stable and structured there when the boys go to see their mother.”
Spears is afraid of his own father and previously asked him not to return as his only conservative, after a brief recess in which he received medical treatment.
