Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander posts selfie at a pro-Trump rally in DC

Jason Allen Alexander, who was infamous and married to Britney Spears for 55 hours, was among Donald Trump’s supporters protesting in Washington, DC, on Wednesday.

Alexander, a childhood friend of Spears from Kentwood, Louisiana, whose escape in 2004 with the pop star in Las Vegas was nullified, shared a photo of himself in the capital for the Save America rally protesting Joe Biden’s presidential victory. He shared a selfie in which he is wearing a red Trump cap with a “45” on the street with the crowd while a Trump 2020 flag flies behind him.

“DC,” Alexander wrote. “Millions showed up.”

According to the Associated Press, there were actually “several thousand demonstrators” at the rally at Ellipse, a park south of the White House, where Trump addressed his supporters on Wednesday before the Congressional vote to affirm the victory of the President-elect Biden. He exhorted them: “If you don’t fight like hell, you won’t have another country” and “this is a moment of strength”.

Of course, confusion later broke out when hundreds of armed protesters stormed the Capitol. However, it is not clear whether Alexandre – no relation to the Seinfeld actor – was part of that group, and there is no evidence that he was.

Alexander has not yet responded to Yahoo Entertainment’s request for comment.

Spears’ ex shared with his Facebook followers in advance that he would be there for the “Save America” rally. He also posted about not being a Biden fan and being dissatisfied with the election results. (The self-styled conspiracy theorist is also anti-mask and questions whether the pandemic was a scam.)

Alexander, whose current occupation is not known, also exercised his right to protest over the summer, attending a #FreeBritney rally in LA in August. Her famous ex has been in guardianship since the collapse of 2008 and he has shown his support for her to regain control of her life and assets.

In an interview with TMZ, he said he wanted to “show support” and “bring some love” and “attention” to the situation. He said he could understand how she was under guardianship “at first … but 12 years later? Come on, man. It’s ridiculous.”

Alexander added that he returned to contact his ex after 10 years without speaking and was concerned that part of her money was “missing” under the control of his father, Jamie Spears. He also said he was interested in rekindling a romantic relationship with his ex, despite Spears having a long-standing relationship with Sam Asghari.

“That’s why I’m here. If that’s what God wants … We were never given an opportunity. It was kind of stolen from us in Vegas. They made promises that they didn’t keep,” he said.

“They” refers to the Spears Team. After the couple ran away in Las Vegas, almost 17 years ago today, after a few days full of alcohol and drugs, Spears’ mother Lynne Spears and her manager demanded that he be quashed. (Laura Wasser, whom Kim Kardashian allegedly hired while investigating Kanye West’s divorce, was Spears’ lawyer.)

Alexander later said that he thought his relationship with Spears – who remains under guardianship – would continue, but he received a plane ticket back to Louisiana and was cut off from his life.

“I was not paid,” he said Good Morning America in 2012. “I didn’t make any money, uh, directly from that.”

However, he profited from the interviews he gave, taking Spears – who later married and divorced Kevin Federline – to publicly call you a liar in 2010.

In 2015, Alexander spent almost four months in prison on domestic violence charges.
