British police say the EU ‘made a mistake’ about COVID-19 vaccines

The European Union acknowledged that it “made a mistake” when it launched an emergency measure to control the export of the COVID-19 vaccine, said a British policeman.

The EU’s attempt to control the flow of vaccines made within its borders sparked controversy when authorities threatened to prevent vaccines from entering Northern Ireland – relaunching a tense dispute over the country’s status in a post-Brexit world.

British Government Cabinet Minister Michael Gove and the European Commission have agreed to end any dispute and allow vaccines to cross the border, putting the people of Northern Ireland first, according to the BBC.

Gove said he is confident in the UK’s vaccine supply and is on track to administer 15 million vaccines by February 15, the BBC reported.
