Britain’s Prince Harry is happy despite real disappointment, says confidant

LONDON (Reuters) – British prince Harry is heartbroken at his separation from the royal family, but he and his wife Meghan are happy in their new lives in the United States, broadcaster and confidant Tom Bradby said in an interview to be broadcast on Saturday.

Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, moved to Los Angeles with their baby son Archie last year after they gave up their royal official roles after disagreements with other family members and in the face of the media.

“I think he is heartbroken by the situation with his family,” said Bradby in an interview with ITV’s “Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh”.

“But are they unhappy out there? No, I don’t think that’s right, I think they are really happy, but I think they struggle with their position in life, I think they all do. “

Bradby’s interviews with the couple during a 2019 trip to Africa provided insight into the growing tensions within the royal family since the 2018 wedding and the birth of their child, with a tearful Meghan describing the difficulty of being a new mother and deal with relentless scrutiny.

Harry also admitted to having disagreements with his older brother, Prince William, who is second in line to the throne.

“Well, just the situation with the family is clearly not ideal and it has been a very difficult year for all of them,” said Bradby.

“There are still many hurts on all sides and it is very difficult,” he added.

Bradby’s documentary about the couple portended his decision to step away from all official royal duties in 2020.

Since then, Harry and Meghan have continued their charity work and signed TV and other media deals, releasing their debut podcast in December. They also started several lawsuits against the British press.
