Speaking to Grazia about her sex scenes, Phoebe said, ‘My first scene was in episode six, where Simon is falling in love with Daphne.

“And it was so good, because I felt safe and fun: you choreographed it like an acrobatics or a dance. It’s crazy to me that [an intimacy coordinator] has not been there in the past.

“I’ve done sex scenes before and I can’t believe I did it: it was only five or six years ago, but it wouldn’t be allowed now.”

Phoebe added: ‘I love her [Daphne’s] history of adulthood and sexual awakening. I love to see their feminine look and see her discover for herself. She started late, but it’s not like she could search Google.

She said, ‘There is a scene in an episode where Daphne comes down the stairs and everyone is looking at her.

‘That was one of the most difficult scenes to shoot. Everyone has days when they wake up and feel like pooping and don’t want to see anyone, let alone being on camera.

‘It turns out that I was having one of those days, and I felt so out of my comfort zone. Basically, I had a total panic attack.

Phoebe has been acting for more than a decade with roles on Waterloo Road and opposite Guy Ritchie’s Snatch TV adaptation – “it was a bit like a boys club,” she says.

She also appeared in the creation of Darren Star, Younger. However, Bridgerton is his biggest role so far.

Discussing the possibility of now being identified by millions of Netflix viewers, Phoebe said she is prepared, but not necessarily enthusiastic.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror before the release of Bridgerton, Sally shared her enthusiasm for seeing her daughter on the streaming giant’s website.

She said, ‘I just want to say that I am very proud of Phoebe and as a family, we are very excited to see Bridgerton on Christmas Day.’
