‘Bridgerton’ star Regé-Jean Page enters the film ‘Dungeons & Dragons’

Regé-Jean Page took a leading role in the film adaptation of “Dungeons & Dragons,” Variety confirmed.

The fantasy adventure will be the continuation of Page in his decisive role in Netflix’s “Bridgerton”, in which he makes hearts flutter, corsets loosen and generally monopolizes the desires and affections of a wide range of Regency-era England as the Duke of Hastings, a slightly libertine bachelor, very rich and extremely coveted. The show has been a colder sensation and has been broadcast on 82 million accounts, a record for Netflix. Page also recently announced that he will be presenting “Saturday Night Live”. This month, he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for his work on “Bridgerton”.

In “Dungeons & Dragons”, an adaptation of Hasbro’s venerable game franchise, he joins a cast that includes Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith. Johnathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who previously partnered on the scripts for “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “Horrible Bosses”, will direct and write the script based on a draft by Michael Gilio. Hasbro / eOne and Paramount are jointly producing and financing the film, with eOne distribution in the UK and Canada, and Paramount distribution in the rest of the world.

“Dungeons & Dragons” has been an institution for over four decades, generating video games, an animated television program and some films of negligible quality. Now, he is getting big studio film treatment after a few false starts.

Page’s other credits include a role in ABC’s legal drama “For the People”, as well as supporting appearances in “Mortal Engines” and “Sylvie’s Love”. The page is represented by CAA, UK’s Artists Partnership and Ziffren Brittenham.
