‘Bridgerton’ season 2 features Simone Ashley as Kate, Anthony Love Interest

Bridgerton The second season is starting to take shape, with the casting of an important new character.

Simone Ashley, who is on Netflix Sex education played “Untouchables” member Olivia, will fill the role of Kate Sharma (Sheffield, in the novels), a love interest for Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony Bridgerton, confirmed TVLine. Kate is described as a smart and obstinate newcomer in London, “who doesn’t suffer from fools – Anthony too included”.

“We are really going to be [focusing on] older brother Bridgerton next season, Lord Anthony Bridgerton, ”revealed showrunner Chris Van Dusen last month at Today Show. “We dropped him off at the end of the first season at a small crossroads, so I’m looking forward to jumping in and finding out how he does on the wedding market.”

Kate is among “a lot of new characters” that Van Dusen said he expected during the second year of the hit series, which is based on Bridgerton’s second novel by author Julia Quinn, The viscount who loved me.

Ashley’s previous TV credits also include the ITV miniseries The sister and the UK version of Broadchurch. Your cast was first reported by our sister site Deadline.
