Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre has every right to express his opinion on any and all topics on which he chooses to express an opinion. And anyone who chooses to respond to Favre’s opinion with his own opinion has the right to do so.

Case in point: Favre got into the conversation about Deshaun Watson’s situation in Houston. Watson wants to leave, and the team did not slam the door for the possibility of changing it. Favre, speaking to Yahoo Sports, offered a quote that can be called absurd, at best.

“You get a ton of money for do a certain job, and just doand let the chips fall where they can, ”said Favre. “I think we made a lot of money to express an opinion, but I’m not saying that he is wrong. Again, I think it’s a different day and time, and it will be interesting to see how the organization handles this. “

So basically, Favre says Watson should shut up and play, but maybe he shouldn’t, because maybe he’s right and things are different than they used to be and let’s see if the Texans give Watson what he can or can’t have the right to ask.

Watson’s agent, David Mulugheta, simply thinks that Favre should shut up. “Brett should probably stop throwing rocks of that glass house he’s sitting in, ”said Mulugheta on Twitter.

Mulugheta is right. Favre basically held the Packers hostage for several years with his incessant reflections on retirement. So, after retiring, he decided he wanted to play for someone other than Packers. Then he appeared out of nowhere and forced an exchange. He desperately wanted to be traded at NFC Norte. The Packers refused, but Favre ended up in Minnesota after a season with the Jets.

So what is it that Favre did in 2008 is different from what Watson is doing in 2021? The only difference is that it took Favre an entire year to get what he wanted.
