Brett Favre is a kind of “old school” guy.
The former Green Bay Packers defender spoke to Yahoo Sports on Wednesday about recent reports that Deshaun Watson is dissatisfied with the Houston Texans organization and is demanding an exchange.

Favre went straight with his opinion, saying that this type of thing was “unheard of” during his time in the league, with a few exceptions.
“It’s a different day and time,” he started by saying. “You know it wasn’t that long ago in some ways, but in others, it was light years ago when I joined the league and it was almost unheard of for a player to require basically anything.”
“I’m kind of old school,” continued Favre. “I think you play. You get a ton of money to do a certain job and you just do it and drop the chips where they can. I think we made a lot of money to express an opinion, but I’m not saying he’s wrong. Again, I think it’s a different day and time, and it will be interesting to see how the organization will handle it. “

Favre’s comments did not please Watson’s agent, David Mulugheta, who tweeted: “Brett should probably stop throwing stones from that glass house where he is sitting.”
Mulugheta was probably referring to Favre’s own drama with the Packers, including a reported exchange request, a brief retirement and a release request.
Favre would play for the New York Jets, retire and return to playing with the Minnesota Vikings before retiring forever in 2010.

Watson would have been bored with the organization in recent weeks and several reports indicate that he has no interest in staying.
The Jets are one of the main candidates due to Watson’s affection for new coach Robert Saleh, but according to SNY, New York is not his “preferred destination” and the no-deal clause in his contract could come into play. Another option would be the Miami Dolphins because of Watson’s interest in playing with coach Brian Flores, NJ.com reported.
