Breath of the Wild sequel details revealed – UPDATE: It’s not that new

UPDATE: It looks like this information came from a 2019 GamesRadar pamphlet. It’s not that new. Sorry for the confusion. Original article below:

News about the previously announced sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been sparse since the 2019 debut trailer. Even that content was minimal, with very little context provided for Link and Zelda’s new adventure. Now, however, it appears that more information may be on the way.

AN reddit post quotes a Nintendo marketing pamphlet, showing a photo with the following details:

Finally, Link and Zelda return in the eagerly awaited successor to the unforgettable action adventure The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with series producer Eiji Aonuma promising a darker adventure this time around. In the depths of the caves below Hyrule Castle, a new and powerful threat awakes. Can our courageous heroes save the kingdom again?

This is the first confirmation of where the trailer happened and reiterates the darker tone expected. It also uses the word “successor” for the new game, rather than a sequence or something similar.

It is still minimal, and no other sign of this pamphlet (which also appears to briefly feature No More Heroes 3 and Bayonetta 3) besides this image has been shared. With this month announcing the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series, we will probably know sooner rather than later.
