Breath of the Wild mod makes buying Link’s home less a fraud

While some argue that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild it is perhaps one of the best games ever made, there are still aspects of the experience that are disappointing, or not as detailed as they could be. Take the purchase of a home, for example. It looks like it would be a big deal, right? Disposing thousands of rupees to own a property brings with it the expectation that you will receive something worthwhile.

Instead, the house has only a few trinkets that you can display (for more rupees!) And it also allows you to restore your health. You will probably still buy the house if you are a completist, but the cost does not seem to justify your return on investment. Perhaps that is why modders like Waikuteru came to the rescue.

As detected by Eurogamer, a new Breath of the Wild mod reshapes the house and gives a total renovation. There are more decorations that make the space more cozy, like hanging conceptual art, but that’s just the beginning. There is also a new stable where you can keep a horse, a fast transport station, a kitchen area, a fishing spot and even a mechanic that allows you to keep a pet. Depending on how you treat your pet chicken, it can reward Link with eggs that can be used for cooking. Nice.

The video above shows all the benefits that come with the mod, but unfortunately, you can’t experience this unless you’re playing an emulated version of BOTW. Still, it’s nice to see people reinforcing a game that is already excellent – maybe Nintendo will try to incorporate some of these ideas in the eventual follow-up?
