Braves launches Jake Lamb – Talking Chop

The Atlanta Braves made a flurry of changes in the squad on Saturday and a result answered almost every question regarding their bank for the opening day. The team announced on Saturday afternoon that it released field player Jake Lamb from the squad, which also released a spot in the 40-player squad.

The Braves hired Lamb in the hope that he could provide some power for off-lefts and another third base option. However, he did not impress this spring with 7 of 36 on the board.

Given the team’s other moves this morning, it looks like Ender Inciarte, Johan Camargo, Ehire Adrianza, Pablo Sandoval and William Contreras or Alex Jackson will start the season on the bench, as long as they have a five-man bench to start with. Lamb joins Jason Kipnis, who was also released today.
