Brad Venable, prolific TV and video game voice actor, dies

Tributes to “one of the best and most generous talents in the narration industry”

Brad Venable, a voice over artist known for his extensive work on TV and video games, passed away earlier this week at the age of 43. The news was released on social media on January 8, with heartfelt tributes from many of his friends and industry colleagues.

Venable’s talent has been exhibited in popular anime, TV series and video game franchises since the early 2000s. Although Venable’s most prolific roles include that of the familiar Griffon de V in Devil May Cry 5, and Kostas and Nader in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, his extensive work in the industry also saw Venable fused into Final Fantasy VII Remake, World of Warcraftand Shenmue IIIas well as TV series like Attack on Titan, hero maskand Aggretsuko.

Speaking on Twitter, voice artist Terry Daniel recalled Venable as “One of the best and most generous talents in the field of voiceover. [Brad] he was a loving man and would help you with anything you needed. Ridiculously talented and a real treasure. “

Cristina Vee he also paid tribute to Venable, recalling that he “always had a smile and a kind word to say” and noting that he was “a foundation in our community and left too soon”.

Other compliments were offered by the actors, Darrel J. Delfin, Brian Olvera, Khoi Daoand Erica Mendez, many of whom reflected on Venable’s talents and skills in the field of voice acting, but all who spoke of his kindness, generosity and helpful and witty nature. Briefly, Chris Hackney said “Brad was kind. Brad was light. Brad was talented. Brad was humble. Brad was everything and more.”
