Despite persistent rumors that he may have an interest in the Bloomington coach job, Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens reiterated on Friday that he is not interested in the position.
When asked by reporters on Friday whether he is considering the job of a coach in Indiana, Stevens replied, “I said that the other day: I’m not.”
Stevens continuous: “And I tried to say it as clearly as I could and also to make people understand that this place is special to me. Because I don’t want to make it look like it isn’t. But, as I said the other day, I am very grateful to this organization and the people here, and for everything they have done for us. “

Rumors have circulated about the possibility of Stevens taking over as head coach in Indiana after Archie Miller was fired on Monday afternoon.
Stevens, who grew up in Indiana and watched the IU games as a child, trained Butler for two appearances in the NCAA championship before taking over as coach of the Boston Celtics. He is currently in his eighth year with the Celtics.
“I’m not a kid anymore,” said Stevens on Friday. “I am a 44-year-old Masshole. I dodge others when I’m driving, like Dunkin Donuts and cheer for the Patriots. “
