Bozell: Social media giants ‘canceling conservatives’, necessary antitrust action

Media Research Center founder Brent Bozell called for antitrust action against Big Tech for “canceling conservatives” after Amazon, Apple and Google took action against Parler, an alternative social media app that appeals to conservative users.

CONSERVATORS ESCAPE TO PARLER FOLLOWING THE PERMANENT SUSPENSION OF TWITTER’S TRUMP

“Big technology is doing what we were told is a crazy conspiracy, canceling the conservatives. Now they are behind [Parler]. Don’t let them win! Join me @brentbozell “, wrote Bozell in Twitter Saturday.

“BigTech declared war not just on the right, but on the American ideal of freedom. Apple, Google and Amazon are dangerous monopolies and must be destroyed. Flood them with calls and emails,” he continued.

Bozell’s comments come after all of Big Tech seems to come together to block President Trump after the looting of the United States Capitol on Wednesday by a pro-Trump crowd.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Thursday that Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts will be blocked “indefinitely” and at least for the next two weeks before January 20.

Twitter announced the permanent suspension of Trump’s account on Friday, after months of signaling his tweets with warnings. The social media company said the president was spreading misinformation that could incite more violence.

Parler was paralyzed after Amazon, Apple and Google booted him from their platforms, citing several posts that they say incite violence. Amazon said in a statement that Parler does not have sufficient controls over violent content.

White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere criticized the crackdown on social media that has gained momentum since the Capitol riot.

“It is indisputable that no one has been more successful in using digital media than President Trump to communicate directly with the American people, but it is incredibly ironic, but not surprising, that when the President spoke to the country at a critical time, Big Tech chose to censor and prevent him from doing so, “Deere told Fox News. “Big Tech is out of control.”
