Boyfriend Dungeon is finally released this year

Well, well, we finally got an ETA for those sharp-looking datable blades. The estimated release date of Boyfriend Dungeon has been officially listed as “when weapons are beautiful enough” for years, leading me to believe that these weapons would never get enough beauty sleep. The time has come, however, or almost. Kitfox Games announced today that the dungeon will be open for dates this year in a new trailer.

If you still don’t get it, Boyfriend Dungeon is really a dating simulator. But dates are difficult and we should all take breaks. Therefore, between becoming personal with the weapon of your choice, you will also enter dungeons generated by procedures to battle them. A courtship with a side of Roguelike. Or maybe it’s the other way around, depending on your preference.

You have seven weapons to choose from, some of which you can find in the trailer up there. You have all the usual types: a guy in a leather jacket, a guy in a suit, the woman who is literally a dagger. Oh, and the English punch is a cat, I just learned.

Kitfix already called it the year of bae blades, which implies that we would see the Boyfriend Dungeon this year. Today’s announcement makes it official. They also announced that Boyfriend Dungeon will be available for Xboxes and Game Pass. That’s Game Pass for PC too, they say.

Unfortunately, there is still no specific date to include in your planner, but I am sure that one of those pointed lovers will make it official soon. When it comes out, you’ll be able to find Boyfriend Dungeon on Steam. It will also be released on Xbox One / X / S and Nintendo Switch.
