#BoycottJeopardy trends after Dr. Oz made his debut as a presenter

Dr. Mehmet Oz started his two-week season as a guest host for Danger! on Monday. When it was announced in early February that he would be the presenter, there was an immediate reaction from the fans. Despite the repercussions of the fans, Dr. Oz replaced Alex Trebek, who recently died of pancreatic cancer.

“You know, I was fortunate enough to become friends with Alex, and I visited him and this show whenever I could,” said Dr. Oz at the beginning of the show. “One of my favorite memories was of Alex showing me, with immense pride, a room full of letters and support for him from you, from his fans. And of all his achievements, he was most proud of his connection with all of you in House.”

While Trebek was loved by viewers, Dr. Oz received far more mixed reviews. Most of the viewers’ opinions on Twitter were negative. #BoycottJeopardy also started to become a trend as a result of its appearance.

Although several viewers were disappointed by Dr. Oz’s appearance, some good things came out of it. “Danger!” matched the total earnings for all three contestants with a donation to their charity HealthCorps. On Monday, they raised $ 23,001 for a good cause.
