Boston is named semifinalist by the Naismith Trophy

Boston Co-Defensive Player of the Year and an All-SEC First-Team selection, Boston is on the watch list of all national players of the year in the postseason and is still in contention for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year and the Lisa Leslie Award too. She has been particularly dominant in SEC games, especially on glass, with double-digit rebounds in 15 of the league’s 16 games this season. His 12.3 rebounds per game from the SEC is a new record for South Carolina, as well as his 62 offensive rebounds in the league. His 25 career doubles include 16 in action at the SEC, including nine this season alone, which is a shy of the school record. Boston’s 3.6 blocked shots per SEC game this season are also a record for the program, and its 93 career blocks in SEC games are already the second in the school’s history. In the season, Boston is in 12th place in the country in blocks per game (2.9), 13th in rebounds per game (11.7) and 19th in offensive rebounds per game (3.9). She has an overall double-double average (13.0 ppg / 11.7 rpg), against SEC opponents (13.3 ppg / 12.3 rpg) and in the 11 Gamecocks games against ranked opponents (13.5 ppg / 12.1 rpg).
