Boss to ex-employee: Keep the change! All 500 pounds of that.

Peachtree City, Georgia (CBS 46) – A man from Georgia claims a bitter feud over the final payment that ended with 500 pounds of pennies delivered to his garage.

Andreas Flaten said when he sent his two-week written notice last November, hell has no fury as its frustrated boss.

“He froze and looked at me for a direct minute … I remember it so clearly … he gets up, puts his hands on his head, walks out the door and disappears for about an hour,” said Flaten.

Flaten had worked at Walker Luxury Autoworks in Peachtree City for a year. He had known the owner for eight years. But Flaten said the constant turnover and toxic work environment took their toll.

Flattening out the complaints on his last day, he delivered his washed uniforms and in a box complete with another letter explaining why he was leaving.

He said his boss promised that his final check would be paid in January. Never arrived. He said his boss accused him of damage.

“Honestly, I never expected him to pay,” said Flaten.

Flaten called the Georgia Department of Labor. Five months later, he presumably received the total amount of $ 915 dollars … in cents.

“That ends up being about 504 pounds of cents,” exclaimed Flaten.

“I have nowhere to put them. I had no idea what to do, for example, how do I get money with pennies? ”Added Flaten.

Online criticism requires karma, calling the eviction of money “petty”.

Flaten kept the pennies in his garage in a large wheel barrel.

“Brand new wheel drum that is full to the brim. The … wheels are broken to the side, flat … “, he said.

Flaten and his girlfriend said that all pennies are covered with some kind of oil and cannot be changed until they are cleaned.

CBS46 is working to get the owner’s side of the story. Several calls to Walker Luxury Autoworks were not returned.
