‘Boss Baby’ sequel postpones release to September 2021

The boss needs a little more time off.

Universal announced on Monday that the DreamWorks Animation sequel The Boss Baby: Family Business is postponing its theatrical release date from March 26, 2021 to September 17, 2021.

In a twin move, DWA’s Bad guys, which was scheduled to open on September 17, is not yet defined. A 2022 release date will be announced in the coming weeks.

Hollywood studios continue to reorganize their upcoming calendars amid the ongoing pandemic, which has resulted in the closing of cinemas and delays in production,

Boss Baby 2 brings together director Tom McGrath and voice star Alec Baldwin. Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel also reprise their roles as parents of Ted and Tim. Among the newcomers to the cast are James Mardsen, Eva Longoria, Ariana Greenblatt, Amy Sedaris and Jeff Goldblum.

The original Boss baby, launched in 2017 when DWA was owned by 20th Century Fox, was a blockbuster, grossing $ 500 million north worldwide.
