Boeing 737 MAX makes unscheduled landing after engine problem

An Air Canada Boeing 737 Max made an unscheduled – but safe – landing on Friday due to engine problems.

On board were three crew members, but only for passengers. No injuries were reported.

The plane was flying from Arizona to Montreal when the pilots received an engine alert and decided to change their route to land in Tucson, Arizona, the BBC reported.

The warning was for “low hydraulic pressure on the left engine” and a fuel imbalance problem, according to Aviation.24.be, a Belgian aviation news site.

In 2019, U.S. aviation regulators suspended all 737 Max planes after two fatal crashes just five months apart. The accidents – one in Indonesia, the other in Ethiopia – took 346 in total.

In mid-November, the FAA gave OK for planes to start flying again after Boeing revised the aircraft’s automated flight software, which caused the planes to crash.
