Dave Creek, chief designer of the “Bob’s Burgers” character, died after suffering injuries in a skydiving accident, according to several reports.
One representative for 20º Television, FOX Entertainment and Bento Box Entertainment told Page Six in a statement on Friday: “We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Dave Creek, an extraordinary artist who has been with ‘Bob’s Burgers’ from day one. He was not only an incredible talent, but also a beautiful person, and our hearts are with his family, friends and all his colleagues on the show who loved him and are suffering today. ”
Several of Creek’s colleagues, who worked alongside the talented artist on Fox’s animated sitcom, also confirmed that he passed Thursday and paid tributes online.
Director Simon Chong I wrote, “Today we tragically lost our main character designer and friend, Dave Creek. A wonderfully brilliant and talented man who I can guarantee has projected his favorite character on Bob at some point. I will miss you, friend x ”
Writer Wendy Molyneux tweeted, “If you love Bob’s Burgers, you loved Dave Creek. He was an amazing artist, adventurous, funny and outgoing, and one of the most amazing and interesting people I have ever met. I often thought that Dave really knew how to live, and I would like him to live a little longer. Rest in peace, friend. “
According to IMDb, Creek is credited with working as a lead character designer on “Bob’s Burgers” from his start in 2011 until 2014. He also worked on Fox’s most recent adult sitcom, “Central Park”.
Creek’s Instagram showed that he was an avid skydiver, posting a video of one of his most recent dives on December 28 at 5,000 feet.
A Fox representative did not immediately return our request for comment.
