‘Bob’s Burgers’ character designer Dave Creek dies at 42 in a skydiving accident

Dave Creek, the main character designer in Bob’s burgers, died over the weekend in a skydiving accident, confirmed a spokesman for the Fox program. He was 42 years old.

“Today we tragically lost our main character designer and friend, Dave Creek,” Simon Chong, a director on Fox’s animated series, tweeted on Thursday. “A wonderfully brilliant and talented man that I can guarantee that he designed his favorite character on Bob at some point. I will miss you, friend x.”

Wendy Molyneux, a writer for the animated series, on Twitter called Creek “an adventurous, funny and amazing artist and one of the most amazing and interesting people I’ve ever met” and added, “If you love Bob burgers, you loved Dave Creek. “She added,” I often thought Dave really knew how to live, and I would like him to live a little longer. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Creek attended Ventura Community College and Santa Barbara City College before graduating from Cal Arts in 2005. (He recently served as an adjunct professor at the school.) He joined Bento Box in 2010.

Creek has spent the past 16 years designing miniature tree houses on bonsai trees. It took 10 years to complete his first. He showed his work on Instagram.

Survivors include their parents, Melanie and David; stepmother Lorraine; brother Robert; sisters Stephanie and Aleasha; brother-in-law Brian; and nieces Micaela, Devin and Ave.
