Bobby Brown Sr. wants those responsible for providing ‘street fentanyl’ to his deceased son to be held responsible

Bobby Brown Sr. is calling for those who may be responsible for the death of his son to be held responsible.

It was revealed earlier this week that the November 2020 death of 28-year-old Bobby Brown Jr. was the result of “the combined effects of alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl”.

Speaking to People, Brown Senior and Kim Ward talked about their son’s death and noted that they do not believe he is a regular drug user. Meanwhile, Brown Sr. noted that he believes those responsible for promoting the fentanyl “epidemic” should be held accountable.

“My family continues to mourn my son’s death,” Brown, 52, told the channel. “Street fentanyl took the lives of so many people unnecessarily and Bobby Jr. is another victim. This epidemic is out of control and those who supply this lethal drug must be held responsible for the death and destruction it causes ”.

The singer’s statement came a day after a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman confirmed to Fox News that there is currently a criminal investigation underway over Brown Jr.’s overdose.

TMZ reports that the police started to consider the case as a criminal from the beginning, after the involvement of narcotics was determined. The agency reports that police officers quickly discovered the drugs after talking to people close to Brown Jr. before his body was found.

The case is now reportedly in the hands of the LA District Attorney’s Office, which will determine whether criminal charges can be made against anyone related to drugs or whether things will be returned to the police department for them to conduct another investigation.

In a statement provided to People, Ward said Bobby Jr. “did not use drugs”.

“Bobby used to be easily influenced,” said Ward. “This is a situation in which he associated himself with the wrong people. My son is gone and those who contributed to his meaningless death must be held responsible.”

His lawyer also noted that they have reason to believe that he ingested fentanyl without realizing it, leading to a lethal overdose.

Brown’s representatives did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
