“The US remains BMG’s richest repertoire source and the biggest revenue generator. After a very strong 2020, we are determined to be in a position to accelerate to get out of this pandemic, instead of resting on its laurels, ”said Masuch in a statement. “This new simplified structure will allow us to raise the bar for excellence when it comes to serving our artists. I would like to thank Thomas, Jon, Monti, Dan and Jason for all of their contributions to the company and wish them continued success in their new roles. “
“BMG US has just enjoyed its best year, so it is an honor to take responsibility for our operation in New York as well as in LA,” added Scherer. “I’m looking forward to working alongside Jon Loba as we pursue our goal of providing a real partnership for our artists and composers: inspiring, helping them to build and own their creative works and offering them new opportunities to express their talents in books, podcasts, films and documentaries, video games and more. More than ever, BMG is the friendliest alternative for artists to the traditional music market. “
In its most recent earnings report, BMG posted a 4.8% increase in revenue to € 282 million ($ 310.8 million) in the middle of the year ended June 30, 2020, from € 269 million ( $ 303.9 million) in the previous year period.
