Blake Shelton suffers reaction when debuting the new ‘soft tone’ song ‘Minimum Wage’ amid the coronavirus pandemic

Blake Shelton is facing a negative reaction for debuting a song entitled “Minimum Wage”, while people in America continue to struggle amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The “The Voice” coach debuted the new single on the NBC New Year’s Eve TV special alongside Carson Daly to help play in 2021. The country singer told the presenter that his fiancee, Gwen Stefani, helped make his brother, Todd, direct the video. The artist’s new song has to do with his love for 51-year-old singer “Hollaback Girl” and contains a lyrics in the chorus that irritated many people who saw the broadcast.

“Girl, your love can make a man feel rich on a minimum wage.”

Given the fact that the coronavirus pandemic has caused many companies to shut down and put countless Americans out of work, people quickly accessed Twitter to criticize the singer for releasing a song they believed to be “deaf” due to the current climate.

“The irony of hearing a millionaire Blake Shelton singing about ‘love with a minimum wage’ in late 2020 may get lost in his target audience,” a user wrote.

“I love his music, but the time for the Minimum Wage is not a good one. With so many people out of work and struggling, the music seems a little deaf. I would like to hear songs that are more personal. I would like him to write more of his own things because he is an amazing composer, ” another wrote.

Someone agreed, writing: “Does anyone else think Blake Shelton’s song” Minimum Wage “is incredibly deaf to our country’s current state?”

“Please apologize to everyone for your song ‘minimum wage’. From what I read, you pissed off a lot of people during a time when we needed songs of hope and charity, and no more crap about how much you and Gwen are doing. in love. What an insult to us all. Boooooo, ” a more direct user added.

The song has not yet been fully released and Shelton has not yet publicly commented on the reaction on social media.

As of Thursday morning, the new coronavirus infected more than 82,791,115 people in 191 countries and territories, resulting in at least 1,806,478 deaths. In the United States, all 50 states plus the District of Columbia reported confirmed cases of COVID-19, totaling more than 19,744,737 diseases and at least 350,000 deaths.
