Blake Shelton is marking the departure of former “Voice” castmate Adam Levine in Kelly Clarkson.
It all started during the blind auditions for “The Voice” on Monday, when 21-year-old contestant Keegan Ferrell sang “She Will Be Loved”, which comes from Levine Maroon 5’s band.
Ferrell’s performance saw Shelton, 44, and Clarkson, 38, ringing the bells in hopes of putting the singer on their respective teams.
Before Shelton and Clarkson started to fight verbally for Ferrell’s loyalty, the “God’s Country” singer took the time to play with Clarkson’s position in the singing competition.

“First of all, I’m friends with the guy who wrote and sang that song,” Shelton said quickly about Levine. “I want you to look at this training panel for just a second. Notice who is missing and who is in that chair.”
The camera then cut to a shaken Clarkson, whose jaw dropped after Shelton’s humorous dig.

“Now, I’m not saying that Kelly Clarkson made Adam fire,” Shelton continued before Clarkson interrupted with a lover “because I didn’t!”
“But he’s gone and she’s sitting there, okay?” Shelton said earlier that fellow judge John Legend pointed out that Clarkson also “has a talk show on the network”.

“This network [NBC] means ‘Nothing but Clarkson’, ok? “Shelton joked.
“Who do you want to go with – powerful or weak?” Clarkson then asked Ferrell, referring to Shelton as the last.
“If Maroon 5 inspires you, I don’t know if I would choose a coach who is their archenemy,” replied Shelton.

Clarkson then mentioned in exasperation that she and Levine “traveled together”, to which Shelton responded quickly: “And then you got him fired. I’m willing to be fired by you, Keegan!”
Ferrell ended up choosing to be part of Shelton’s team after the witty pranks between the two singers – saying that Shelton “simply knows how to bring artists to the next level.”

Levine was one of four celebrity coaches on the singing competition program for eight years and 16 seasons before leaving in 2019.
