Recently, Treyarch started to joke that it would have a lot reserved for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies game mode next week on January 15th. At the time of the provocation, we were not sure what the developer could have reserved, but as of today, some of that information appears to have leaked.
Identified through the Microsoft Store, a free trial version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s The Zombies game mode has appeared. The list mentions that this download will be live on January 14th and will give players access for an entire week. During this time, those who want to play the full Zombies aspect for Black Ops Cold War you just need to download this iteration of the game and start it up.
Even though this is one of the biggest surprises Treyarch seems to have in store for 115 days, it probably won’t be the only one. The coming week will potentially bring more revelations of future content for Zombies in Black Ops Cold War, some of which may even be launched next week along with this free access period.
Of course, as should be obvious, other sections of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will not be played through this download. So, if you want to dive into the realm of the multiplayer campaign for Black Ops Cold War, you will need to purchase the game normally.
Although this free trial is only appearing on the Microsoft Store for now, you should be able to get access to it on all of the game’s usual platforms. This includes PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. I may end up making a mistake at this point, so don’t take that as an absolute truth yet.
