‘Black’ creator Kenya Barris calls for restraining order against sister

Kenya Barrels – the creator of “Black-ish” and other spinoffs – is asking a judge to force his sister to keep his distance … because he claims she is profiting from his name and threatening his children.

The highly successful screenwriter, director, actor and TV producer has just filed a restriction request against Colette Barrels – his own brother, who teaches professionally and also writes books – because of Kenya’s fear of harming his children … in one way or another.

In the documents, obtained by TMZ, Kenya documents years of alleged incidents in which he claims that she used her name and family relationship to find opportunities in Hollywood. But after unsuccessful attempts to get her own projects off the ground – either because the meetings went nowhere or because Kenya refused to help her – he says he now fears that Colette will take out his anger on his six children.

Because of this, he is now asking a judge to apply a protective shield ordered by the court – even if temporarily – so she has to stay away from him and his family and interrupt communication.

Kenya says he has had a difficult relationship with his sister for years, all because he claims that she insists on profiting from the family name and using it for her own prospects … not to mention that he supposedly requires him to take care of her and your extended family with money.

Kenya describes several alleged episodes in which he says Colette arranged meetings with top studio executives to come up with his own ideas for TV shows … all under what Kenya calls false pretenses, using his name and false support to accommodate and secure a face time. In some cases, Kenya says things really started to happen for her … all because some executives felt pressured to help Colette due to projects pending with him.

There is that too … Kenya claims that Colette recently sent him a letter of legal demand, saying he MUST fund a $ 4 million film project for her (based on a novel by her). He also claims that she told him that if he doesn’t do what she says … she will go public.
