Black Adam Cast adds Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate – / Film

Adam Cast Pierce Brosnan black

THE Black Adam cast has a new addition: Pierce Brosnan, which is set to play Doctor Fate in the next Jaume Collet-Serradirected film. Dwayne Johnson star as the title character, an anti-hero who escapes from his super-prison and needs to be stopped by a group of super-heroes known as the Justice Society Of America. Brosnan’s Doctor Fate will be part of that group, which also includes Aldis Hodge like Hawkman, Noah Centineo like Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as a cyclone. Marwan Kenzari he is also on board as the villain of the film.

THR knows about Pierce Brosnan joining the Black Adam cast as Doctor Doom. At the end of last year, it was reported that the production was looking for a “Sam Rockwell type” to play that character, and although I certainly don’t think of Brosnan as being something like Sam Rockwell, I’m still interested in this cast. While he is known primarily for his James Bond work, Brosnan is a talented actor who would be better served by stranger and off-field roles like this.

I cannot say that I am familiar with Doctor Doom as a character, but the practical DC Wiki tells me that the character, whose real name is Kent Nelson, is “a powerful sorcerer and agent of the Lords of the Order who fights against evil alongside his wife Inza. His amulet, cape and helmet are creations of the ancient Nabu who acts as his mentor and spiritual guide. He is a founding member of the Justice Society of America. “Honestly, that sounds a little like Doctor Strange imitation, but Doctor Fate has been around for a long time, making his first appearance in 1940.

At the Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson plays the title character, a member of an ancient civilization chosen by the Council of Magicians – who also helped Billy Batson in Shazam! – to become a hero and save his people. But when Black Adam’s methods were considered too cruel and villainous, he was imprisoned by the council for 5000 years. Now he has escaped and it is up to the Justice Society to stop him.

Johnson has been attached to the role of Black Adam for some time. At one point, he would appear as the thug in Shazam!, but it was decided to give him his own solo adventure first. If everything goes according to plan, Black Adam and Shazam will meet in the future Shazam! movie. Jaume Collet-Serra is directing black Adam, with a script credited to Rory Haines, Sohrab Noshirvani, and Adam Sztykiel.
