Bitcoin white paper now hosted by everyone, from Square to Facebook. Here’s why

Some of the most prominent voices in the Bitcoin community (and also the Facebook subsidiary Novi) are hosting the Bitcoin white paper.

The move follows legal threats from nChain chief scientist Craig Wright against the nonprofit that has long hosted the key crypto document.

“Yesterday, both Bitcoin.org and Bitcoincore.org received allegations of copyright infringement of the Bitcoin white paper by lawyers representing Craig Steven Wright,” wrote the nonprofit organization Thursday morning.

(Bitcoin was created by the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, which has yet to be conclusively identified; Wright has repeatedly claimed to be Satoshi.)

Apparently in response to the withdrawal notice, a wave of crypto companies published the white paper on their websites. At the moment, they include:
