Bindi shared the news via an Instagram post, where she confirmed that she received her first baby with husband Chandler Powell on Thursday – which was also the date of her first wedding anniversary.
In the caption, she revealed that her daughter’s name is Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. The name “Grace” comes from her great-grandmother, and “Warrior Irwin” is for her late father, Steve Irwin
“Our gracious warrior is the most beautiful light. Grace is named after my great-grandmother and relatives of the Chandler family dating from 1700,” she wrote. “Their middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my father and his legacy as the most incredible warrior in the wild. Her surname is Powell and she already has a soul as good as her father.”

Bindi previously revealed that the couple was hoping to meet the baby before deciding on her name, but they have already started referring to her as “Baby Wildlife Warrior”.
“My father was the first person to come up with the term ‘Wildlife Warrior’,” she explained. “Being a wildlife warrior means standing up and speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.”

This was not the only tribute Bindi paid her father during her pregnancy – she even recreated a photo of Steve and his mother in the third trimester.
