Bindi Irwin gives birth and honors father Steve Irwin with the name

Bindi Irwin’s little warrior is here.

Irwin, the 22-year-old daughter of “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, gave birth to her first child, daughter Grace Warrior Irwin Powell – and named the baby after her late father.

“Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light … Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my father and his legacy as the most amazing wildlife warrior,” said Bindi in an Instagram post on Friday announcing the birth of Grace.

The girl arrived on March 25 – which was also the first wedding anniversary of Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell. Bindi married Powell, a 24-year-old professional wakeboarder, at the Irwin family’s Australia Zoo in a ceremony that was reduced to just family members because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to honoring Steve, who was killed in a stingray attack in 2006, Bindi and Chandler chose the first name Grace as a tribute to Bindi’s great-grandmother and “Chandler’s family relatives dating back to 1700.”

“There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet girl,” added Bindi in her post on Friday. “She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”

Bindi kept fans up to date at every stage of her pregnancy and even recreated a sweet and exaggerated photo of her parents, Steve and Terri Irwin, when Terri was pregnant with Bindi’s 17-year-old brother Robert.
