Billionaire Carlos Slim returned to his home in Mexico City after being hospitalized by Covid-19, said a family member.

Slim is recovering and recovering well, said his son-in-law and spokesman Arturo Elias Ayub in a message on Saturday. The richest man in Latin America, who turned 81 this week, was hospitalized at the National Institute of Nutrition in Mexico City, where he had mild symptoms, Elias Ayub said earlier.

Slim is the 25th richest person in the world, with a net worth of $ 51.2 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Most of its wealth comes from the telecommunications giant America Movil SAB.

Mexico surpassed India in total Covid-19 deaths on Thursday, making its outbreak the third deadliest in the world.

On Friday, the President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador assured the public that he has passed the “critical stage” of his own coronavirus infection and is recovering. The president, who is known as AMLO, spoke in a video posted online Friday night, marking his first appearance since he revealed he tested positive for the virus on Sunday night.
