Billie Eilish’s documentary gives fans a first look at their relationship with Brandon Quention Adams, a songwriter and rapper who records as 7: AMP, although Eilish calls him “Q.”
“Billie Eilish: The World a Little Blurry”, which hits Apple TV + on Friday, chronicles Eilish’s dizzying rise to stardom from the virality of “Ocean Eyes” in 2016 to the 2020 Grammy Awards
Adams first appeared on filming in late 2018, when Eilish was 16. Following a clip from her radio interview with KROQ’s “Kevin and Bean” – when she said that no boyfriend would match her childhood love for Justin Bieber – Eilish is shown hugging Adams and saying he looks “fucking good”.
Throughout the documentary, she can also be seen holding hands with him at her 17th birthday party and professing her love for him over the phone.

The film shows Eilish becoming increasingly frustrated with his demanding tour schedule and distant demeanor
Backstage at his February 2019 show in Paris, Eilish said he felt “lonely” and “miserable” on Valentine’s Day.

“Q doesn’t do anything?” asked a member of his team.
“I received nothing,” replied Eilish. “And the night before, he was really strange and distant and …”
“It was totally good, we are doing great,” she continued. “But then they had a plan to go to Big Bear [Lake in California], as if the whole team went to Big Bear. I was like, ‘You know what, have fun, don’t worry about me, I’m unhappy and I miss you and I would like you to talk to me and I don’t have anyone else to talk to’. “

Two months later, she regretted her absence during preparations for her 2019 Coachella performance.
“I said, ‘I’m going to get you tickets, and the thing is, you have to spend time with me. You have to see me if I’m going to let you come for free,'” she told her brother, Finneas O’Connell. “I haven’t seen him in two and a half days.”
Adams ended up appearing in his dressing room, where Eilish serenaded him with his song “Xanny”.

After his set, which was widely praised by critics and fans, Eilish did not seem satisfied with his performance. She spoke to Adams on the phone and asked if he could come and see her, to which he apparently replied, “I’m going to try.”
After hanging up, she dropped the phone on the floor.
Halfway through the film, Eilish tells a friend that Adams broke his hand while punching a wall
“I’m trying to convince him to go to therapy,” she told childhood friend Zoe. “He’s so self-destructive.”
After Eilish got her driver’s license, she went straight to the studio to see Adams “and his broken hand”.
Shortly after, however, she is shown writing a song with Finneas about a broken relationship.
“When I’m away from you / I’m happier than ever / I wish I could explain better / I wish it wasn’t true”, they sang.

In the next scene, behind the scenes of her June 2019 concert in New York City, Eilish explained why she recently broke up with Adams.
“I just wasn’t happy. And I didn’t want the same things that he did and I don’t think that’s fair for him,” she said. “I don’t think you should be in a relationship, super excited about certain things that the other person couldn’t care less about.”
“And there was just a lack of effort, I think. I literally thought, ‘Man, you don’t even have enough love to love yourself, you can’t love me. And you don’t. Like, you think you do.'”
“I love him, though, which made it all the more difficult,” she added. “Because I haven’t forgotten about him. I didn’t find anyone else. I never stopped having love for him. I just, like, spent time away from him for a while and I thought, ‘Wow. I’m losing a lot because I’m worried about you all the time. ‘”
Eilish cried that night while singing “I Love You”, an emotional ballad from her 2019 album.
Fans have long known of their friendship with Adams, although neither confirmed that they were dating
Eilish was featured on the cover for his debut project, “Bleaupro” of 2019, as well as several promotional photos, which fueled rumors of romance in his fandom.

However, Eilish told GQ in 2020 that he never felt “wanted” in a relationship.
“My previous boyfriends never made me feel wanted. None of them,” said Eilish. “And it is a great thing in my life to feel that I have never been physically desired by anyone.”
She also told Roman Kemp of Capital Breakfast, who regrets allowing public glimpses of her love life.
“I mean, I had relationships and kept them private,” said Eilish during a remote appearance on the radio show in September. “And even the ones I had, and I like, the small amount I let the world see, I’m sorry. “
“And it’s like, what if it goes wrong? And then everyone has this whole opinion about their relationship that they have no idea about. So it’s not something I’m interested in.”
