The 63rd Annual Grammy was … well, right? Sunday’s ceremony definitely avoided awards presentations on camera for a truly stacked lineup of artists, but then, somehow, the acceptances we got to see gave us everything from inadvertent swearing to Beyoncé tearing up stallion Megan Thee. And to end the night, Ringo Starr granted Billie Eilish and Brother Finneas’ Record of the Year for “Everything I Wanted”, to which the duo responded with a comic shock of staring and grabbing their heads, we can’t help declaring the whole night a success.
“This is really embarrassing for me,” Billie explained on stage to also nominated Megan Thee Stallion, after she accepted her victory. “Megan, I was going to write a speech about how you deserve this, but then I thought, they are not going to choose me at all. I was like, ‘it’s hers!’ You deserve it. “Eilish laughed,” Genuinely, this goes for her. Can we root for Megan Thee Stallion, please? “And everyone did!
The win is, of course, Billie’s second record of the year in a row, with the 2020 ROTY Grammy going to “Bad Guy”, also with Finneas.
