IIt is no secret that Bill Maher has a kind of weakness for conservative blonde women who traffic with incendiary opinions, seeing them as warriors of culture in a continuous (and inflated) crusade against “politically correct”.
For years, the magazine has been good friends with Ann Coulter, who served as a frequent guest on her various programs, where she was treated with kid gloves (despite her often racist views). And now, he has repeatedly offered his popular HBO platform to Megyn Kelly, who was fired from NBC after defending white men dressed in black on Halloween.
During the last Real time In his appearance in January 2020, Maher proclaimed that Kelly was not “really racist” and blamed the “cancellation culture” for his resignation. His vehement defense of Kelly did not mention his long history of involvement with racism, including his former Fox News program, referring to Michelle Obama as “Obama’s baby mama”; his strange obsession with the “New Black Panthers” being a tremendous threat to society; his repulsion repeated by the representations of a Black Santa Claus; calling a black teenager who was beaten at a Texas pool party by a police officer “no saint”; and saying that black communities in America have a “thug mentality”. Well, Maher invited Kelly back to Real time Friday night to discuss – you guessed it! – things from the culture war, which they perceive to be the most urgent issue in the country in the midst of a global pandemic that killed more than 500,000 Americans and left millions more in poverty (and disproportionately affected blacks and Hispanic communities).
Maher started gaping at Kelly’s black dress, referring to it as her old “Fox News” costume, and said she was the “pretty, blonde and normal” radio station surrounded by “monsters”. He then asked if she could work for the current Fox News iteration, which leaned further to the right in the Trump era.
“There are personalities there who worked hard during the Trump administration, right? Maria Bartiromo looked very different from when I was there. Lou Dobbs looked the same as always, ”replied Kelly.
Then they discovered the real reason why Maher invited Kelly to the program: his recent decision to remove his children from New York’s private school, citing how the “leftist” school was teaching his children the theory of critical race from a very young age. Kelly has been shouting from the rooftops about the school’s situation in an apparent effort to draw attention to her new podcast.
“You took your kids out of school in New York, and I’ve been hearing – anecdotally – almost the same thing from many parents,” said Maher, who is certainly hanging out with a bunch of New York parents. “Just tell us why, basically, you did this.”
“We were in the New York City private school system,” explained Kelly, “and they were definitely left-wingers, we are more center-right and that’s okay … so they started taking a very difficult direction on the issues of justice Social.”
Kelly described how the school placed her third-grade son in what she called “an experimental trans education program for these 8- and 9-year-old boys. And it was not about support. We felt it was about trying to convince them, like, ‘Come on!’ ”
The podcast host said they – along with many other parents – objected, and the school later apologized. She also complained about a letter that her school apparently circulated that described, among other things, “Black bodies falling around us” on the streets and that white supremacy was largely to blame, which Kelly considered “divisive” and “racist” “.

Kelly then drew a line between her own problems with her children’s school and a recent incident in which a 17-year-old black girl in St. Louis falsely accused a fellow white high school student of saying something in the sense of “all black lives use it doesn’t matter ”, and she maintained that as evidence that whites are being targeted by blacks due to the color of their skin, which she described as“ racism ”.
“Don’t light me up with gas,” said Maher. “I feel like this is beyond the race. I feel like it’s a generational thing where so many people want their identity to be involved in being a victim. ”
“This is the push now, it is leaning towards victimization,” added Kelly. “And it’s not just a matter of running. I mean, I see that with some of my female colleagues. It is not that the #MeToo situation was not real, but we do not need to be inclined towards victimization – even when we may be victims. “
Having two wealthy whites suggesting to a predominantly white audience that the real problem in America now is that whites are being targeted at a time when black Americans are being hospitalized for COVID-19 at 2.9x the rate of white Americans and 1.5x more probability of dying from the disease, and when black Americans are being laid off more, hired less and offered less in the form of unemployment benefits compared to white Americans during the pandemic, it is out of reach, to say the least.
