Bill Burr, who plays Migs Mayfeld in The Mandalorian, recently discussed Disney and Lucasfilm about the resignation of Gina Carano from the Mandalorian.
Burr’s most recent comments came on The Bill Bert Podcast with guest Joe DeRosa on February 24.

Around 9:35 pm, DeRosa mentions Carano saying, “I was talking the other day about Gina Carano. It’s like you can say that her tweet was stupid or awkward or whatever. But the reaction to that, for me, was so crazy that I was like, ‘guys, this is going to be something that you will look back on … ”
He then notes that President George W. Bush was being called a “devil” and that his supporters were called racists and other kinds of hateful and horrible things when he was president, but now he is doing the talk show circuit.
DeRosa notes: “He continues Kimmel and kicks, gets applause and everyone says, ‘Oh, he’s cute'”. He later states: “And they will do that with half of these canceled people. And going, ‘s ** t man, sorry about that. sorry for the last eight … ‘”
The conversation then turns to PeeWee Herman before Burr appears to bring him back to Carano.
He says: “It is a strange time. I do not know. I kind of … Unless she did some really awful shit. I do not know.”
Later, he would say: “If you make a bad comparison. If you look like Joe trying to figure out where Atlanta is compared to New York. This is not homophobic. This is simply ignorant. “

The conversation would continue with DeRosa to paraphrase why Disney and Lucasfilm fired Carano. For clarity, Carano shared a warriorpriestgympodcast post on his Instagram Stories that warned about the dangers of hating his neighbor and how it can lead to extreme violence.

Eventually, Burr would respond to DeRosa saying, “I think there are too many channels. And then you have to do sensational shit. “
He continued: “I don’t know what the hell this is. I’m on that shit show. Now, I have to see what the hell I say. “

Burr praised Carano: “She was an absolute love. Fucking super cool person. And you know everything and somehow, someone is going to make this video and make me say something else and try to get rid of my bald action figure. “
Burr continues: “What’s it like out there. It’s a really crazy time. People just waiting, planting in the bush. “
Later in the video, they would start talking about cancellation culture in general, and Burr would say, “Now it’s getting like, ‘Hey, you did an ignorant comparison. (discharge sound) there goes your dream, right? “
He then asks, “I look at it and it’s like, ‘Who the hell is against this?'”
Burr would eventually want to change the subject, saying, “Can we just talk about something else? Who cares? Joe, let’s talk about taste buds. Jesus Christ, we’re sitting here talking about Britney Spears and the shit from Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake from 20 years ago. “
Burr previously discussed Carano’s resignation on his Thursday afternoon, Monday morning, February 12 podcast.

He stated at around 5:00, “I am having a strange week. I’m having a great week and so … I’m having a bad week mainly because social media took another friend from me and I just don’t know. I do not know. It seems that now you can make an uninformed statement. It’s just unbelievable. It is unreal. It’s just f *** ing. I do not understand. “
He continued: “I don’t agree with what I read, but I mean, I think you should just … Everyone take the electric chair. There is simply no way, ‘Hey, you know you might want to read about this a little bit more before comparing it to that.’ It’s like the flamethrower, lit, ready. F *** ing crazy, man. F *** ing crazy. Crazy times.
