Big Tech’s censorship of conservatives is ‘dictatorial’: Republican congressman

Deputy Andy Biggs, R-Arizona, condemned recent acts by Big Tech, such as deploring the right-wing social media site Parler, as “dictatorial” efforts to suppress speech.

In an interview on “Outnumbered Overtime”, the conservative congressman said he feared that such gestures from Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook and Twitter would lead to more “bitterness” in public speaking.

When you start to suppress speech, in the first place, it is dictatorial. Second, it violates our constitutional right. But the third thing I would say is that it makes people go underground, and as people go underground … you have more conspiracy theories involved. It is injected with more hatred. It is injected with more bitterness … The way they are doing it, they will avoid discussions that make us progress and solve problems. Instead, they will foster more problems, more discord in doing so. In my opinion, they are trying to create a one-party system, and that is wrong.
