Big E reveals deleted tolls from Apollo Crews before signing with WWE

Big E may have kept his intercontinental title on the Apollo Crews last Friday at SmackDown, but it seems that the dispute between the two is far from over.

Taking to Twitter, Big E revealed a screenshot of two now deleted Apollo Crews tweets.

The first one says: “Damn, Big E Langston is short” with the second saying: “Lmao! Big E appeared on TV and my sister and my mother said what is that?!?!”

Both tweets are from the beginning of 2013, not long after the call for the main cast of Big E. At the time, the future member of New Day was paired with Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee, serving as the Show-Off muscle. The two would challenge Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane) in WrestleMania 29 for the WWE Tag Team Titles, but ended up falling short. The second of Apollo’s two deleted tweets came about a week after that WrestleMania match.

Crews’ previous moves at Big E came just a year before he signed to WWE in 2014. Crews made his television debut on the first NXT Takeover event outside Full Sail University, Acquisition of NXT: Brooklyn. Although he had limited success on the main list, Crews was a singles champion briefly last year, reigning as a United States champion before losing the title to Bobby Lashley in late 2020.

Since then, Crews has been summoned back to SmackDown, where he most recently unsuccessfully challenged Big E for his mid-card title. Although he failed on his first attempt, if these tweets are the basis, it is very possible that a long-standing rivalry between Crews and E is on the horizon.
