Biden to sign 15 executive actions on the first day

President-elect Joe Biden is expected to sign 15 executive actions upon taking office on Wednesday, immediately reversing Trump’s key administration policies.

Why it matters: The 15 actions – aimed at issues such as climate change and immigration – mark immediate more drastic measures compared to the two-day actions one of Biden’s four predecessors combined, according to White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

What they are saying: The actions are the first of many, Psaki said in a press release, while Biden works “to tackle the four crises he created” – COVID-19, the economic crisis, racial injustice and climate change.

  • “In the coming days and weeks, we will announce additional executive actions that will address these challenges and deliver on the President-elect’s promises to the American people,” said Psaki, “including the repeal of the ban on military service by transgender Americans and the reversal of the City Policy of Mexico. “
