President Joe Biden revealed on Sunday that his son Hunter’s next book gave him hope that his “boy is back” after a long battle with substance abuse.
The president was thrilled in an interview with CBS News that is scheduled to air before the Super Bowl on Sunday, when the conversation turned to Hunter’s next memories.
“The honesty with which he came forward and talked about the problem. And the hope that – it gave me hope when I read it,” said Biden.
BIDEN BACKS HUNTER’S BOOK DEAL
Hunter Biden, 51, plans to publish his memoirs entitled “Beautiful Things” on April 6 through Gallery Books, a Simon & Schuster brand.
The book was purchased in the fall of 2019, reports the Associated Press, and will focus on Hunter’s public struggles against substance abuse dating back to his 2014 Navy Reserve layoff due to a positive cocaine test. His finances are currently under investigation by the Department of Justice.

Biden said his son’s story is more common than many believe.
‘You know, I bet there is no family you know who doesn’t have someone in the family who has a problem with drugs or alcohol,’ he told Norah O’Donnell.
Hunter scandals have always been a target of former President Trump. His business abroad began to receive great attention last year, raising significant questions for his father’s presidential candidacy.
