“Mr. President-elect, do you still think the autumn stories about your son Hunter were Russian misinformation and a smear campaign like you said?” Doocy asked as the president-elect answered questions from reporters in Wilmington, Del., On Tuesday.

“Yes, yes, yes. God loves you, man. You are a horse pony,” Biden replied as he left the stage. “I promise you that my Department of Justice will be entirely on its own, judging how they should proceed.”

Biden told reporters on Tuesday that he had not discussed the federal investigation into his son with any of his candidates for attorney general.

“I guarantee that I will do what I said,” he said. “The attorney general of the United States of America is not the attorney for the president.”

“I will appoint someone who I hope to enforce the law as the law is written, not guided by me,” he added.

Hunter Biden said earlier this month that the US attorney’s office in Delaware is investigating his tax affairs. The reports suggest that the investigation is focusing on its business.

The president-elect has said repeatedly that the Department of Justice will be independent and will not be influenced by politics.
